Police are investigating after a woman was found injured in Sheringham last night (Thursday 17 September) after apparently falling off her bicycle.

Officers were alerted by paramedics that during the afternoon yesterday at about 2.15pm they had attended Sheringham Park where they had treated a cyclist who had suffered serious head injuries.

The woman was found inside the park and was thought to have been travelling on the main thoroughfare.

The woman was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance where she remains in a stable condition.

PC Nic Metcalf, from Acle Roads Policing, said: “We’ve carried out a number of enquiries but have so far been unable to trace anyone who witnessed the actual incident.

“We are keen to speak with two women, believed to be from Lincolnshire, who were walking in the area at the time of the incident and went to the woman’s aid prior to paramedics arriving.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information should contact PC Metcalf at Acle Police Station on 101.
