The appeal was run by the North Walsham branch of the Royal British Legion in the weeks leading up to Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day in November.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: “This year’s Poppy Appeal has been an outstanding success and the organisers would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for their time, effort and dedication.

“Thanks to your support, we have raised in excess of £19,000 – an incredible reflection of the generosity of our local community.”
