Rain fails to dampen spirits at street party
The summer showers failed to stop hundreds of people enjoying an afternoon of fun, food and drink at this year’s Aylsham Street Party.
An umbrella was a much-needed party accessory as showers swept across the town but the Market Place was a hive of activity for the popular annual event, organised by Aylsham Town Council. Council staff were out and about from 7.30am on Sunday, July 7, to put out 103 tables and 611 chairs for the free event.

Musical Entertainment was provided by duo Cameron & Jordan, followed by the band Lithium, who got partygoers out of their seats for a dance.
Donna Butcher, Events & Administration Officer at Aylsham Town Council, said: “Thank you to everyone who came along well prepared to brave the showers and made the best of, what now seems to be, our typical Street Party weather. Aylsham definitely knows how to have the best time, come rain or shine.
“Huge thanks again to my colleagues and the amazing team of volunteers for all their hard work in making this event possible. “Thanks also goes to MA & HV Medler Haulage Ltd for the use of the trailer for our stage.”
