Rising stars seal success
Thorpe St Andrew FC footballers celebrated their most successful season to date, as they won their Norfolk Combined Youth League title.
The team, which comprises a near-full cohort of pupils from Thorpe St Andrew School, went on an impressive nine-game unbeaten run to clinch the U15 title in style on the final day of the season.
The team is sponsored by the Ivy Child Charitable Trust and Ian Mackie, Norfolk County Councillor for Thorpe St Andrew.
Tim Youngman, one of the coaches, said: “We are immensely proud to be supported by Ian and the Ivy Child Charitable Trust. We have worked together for a number of years and are grateful for Ian’s continued generosity.”
The 2026/27 season will be the team’s 11th season together, and a number of the players have played for the team since its inception.
“Our togetherness and team spirit are second to none,” said Tim, after the team’s title celebration event at Thorpe Rec.
“We are looking forward to a rest over the summer, before going again for the new season.”
Thorpe St Andrew FC are a Two-Star England Accredited Football Club, affiliated to Norfolk FA. They provide football for boys and girls, men and women, from under 6s through to open-aged adult football.
