North Walsham Live Aid will be hitting the stage this weekend to continue raising money for good causes.

This year’s event (April 6) at the Community Centre will be in aid of Nelson’s Journey, a charity helping children deal with bereavement.

The night of rock, which runs 7.30pm-1am, will include a auction of rock memorabilia, including guitars signed by Brian May from Queen and Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath.

North Walsham Live Aid was was started by Barry Holden (above) in the wake of the original Wembley event in 1985.

“As a musician I was so impressed by the concept that I organised a local event for a specific charity in Africa on similar lines, which was such a success that we received congratulations from Bob Geldof,” said Barry.

“Since then I have organised rock nights with memorabilia auctions on an annual basis and we raised in excess of £40,000.
