Holt Rugby Football Club has had its funding assured throughout the covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

The club is delighted to have been awarded a £10,000 grant by the Sport England Community Emergency Fund, which will help it to meet its financial commitments.

David Hitcham, club director and treasurer, said that the grant was specific to cover necessary running costs to the end of July 2020 and, with the £10,000 government grant received from North Norfolk District Council and the business rates relief through to April 2021, this will enable the club to meet its ongoing commitments until rugby resumes.

Holt Rugby Club has three senior teams and a thriving Junior Section from ages six to 17.

In 2019, the club was recognised by Eastern Counties Rugby Union with the award of Best Facilities in East Anglia – our photograph shows the opening of the new clubhouse by Ben and Tom Youngs along with many of the original founder players from 1961.

David said: “Everybody at the club is looking forward to when playing and social activities can resume, to also enable the many local community organisations to use the club facilities again.”
