Members of a thriving Aylsham running club joined forces to raise £1,200 for cancer research after taking part in a high profile charity race.
A team of nine from the Anyone Can Run group teamed up to tackle the 3km Race for Life course at the Norfolk Showground.
The club, which has been running for just over a year, is for beginners and runners who want to run shorter distances.
It is run by running coach and fitness professional Annette Marsh and she was proud of her group members who took part in the Race for Life for Cancer Research UK.

Annette said: “My ethos at Anyone Can Run is to get people running rather than run walking so I was really proud of our team of nine runners. All of them completed their first 3K race and ran the whole way round without stopping.
“This was a really great moment for us as a club, but also a huge achievement for them all individually. We can build on this now and our next goal is to run the local Parkrun of 5K.

“One of the runners, Christine, said ‘I can’t believe I managed to run the race without stopping. I feel so good’.

“Roger was astounded at how much we raised, saying, ‘that will really make a difference to cancer research’.”

Annette would be delighted to welcome new members to Anyone Can Run, which meets at the Aylsham Sports Hub on Saturdays at 9am and at Youngs Park on Wednesdays at 6pm.

She added: “The club is thriving with good membership. Members say they get a sense of belonging as they turn up carry out strength sessions, speed sessions and, of course, 3 to 5K runs. We are relaxed and friendly and no-one is left behind. We’d love to have you running with us.”
