Scarecrows given a licence to thrill again
A scarecrow trail which proved an instant success on its debut last year will hit the streets of Thorpe again.
Last year’s event raised £1000 for the Friends of Hillside Avenue charity, which supports the primary school’s students and families.

“The scarecrow hunt offers a unique opportunity for engagement between the school, parents and wider community in Thorpe. I’d encourage as many people to participate in making the trail as engaging as possible during May half-term (final week of May 24 – June 1), said Friends’ chair James Hume.
“The event is organised and led by some lovely Year 3 parents; Clare, Emma, Hannah and Lisa. They are well into planning and have started distributing flyers locally.”
Maps for the hunt will be available from the Little Park Café, Thunder Lane Post Office and River Green Pantry.
James added: “We see the difference the charity’s contributions make to the pupils, parents and teachers on a continual basis. We have a big library project in hand along with supporting new sports and other creative events and activities at the school.
“Thank you to everyone who gets involved and we look forward to seeing many people during the week.”
