The Norfolk sky glowed last night when the rarely seen Aurora Borealis – also known as the Northern Lights, was visible across some of the UK.

Our Just Sheringham photographer Chris Taylor was at the North Norfolk coast to capture these stunning images.

He said “I had a text from another professional photographer early in the evening asking if I’d been out to try and see the Aurora, it was the first I’d heard of it so I duly went to the cliffs with my tripod and camera. I couldn’t see much more than a haze but on taking a 30 second exposure I could definitely make out the aurora.

“So I went home and a while later I saw an alert on Twitter that there was another solar storm due in 45 mins. So, I got all my gear and headed out to see if it was any better – and boy was it better!  It was actually visible to the naked eye the second time round”.

These images will be published in next week’s Just Sheringham.
