Chess players are invited to show their best moves in a competition for adults and children.
The Norfolk County Chess Association (NCCA) and North Walsham Library Chess Club are organising the tournament at the town’s community center on the afternoon of Friday, February 17.

The event will have two sections:

  • The Junior section aims to give children up to the age of 16 years a first experience of playing competitive chess.
  • The Open section is aimed at adult and junior players with previous experience playing tournament chess.

John Wickham, NCCA Chair, said: “We welcome players of different abilities to come along and have an enjoyable afternoon playing chess and meeting other local players.  We hope to have players from north Norfolk and Broadland taking part.”

CHECK MATES: Marion Wright, of North Walsham Library Chess Club, with NCCA Junior Organiser Matthew Perry and player Riley, aged 11.
