Lots of you have been enjoying the Sheringham Shantymen videos – and now you have the chance to join in and star in the next one!

Because it has been unable to perform in the usual fashion, the group has been recording special videos with members singing and playing in their own homes and then putting them together online.

The song is The Drunken Sailor so most people will know the words and be able to sing with gusto.

This time they are inviting “all and sundry to take part”. All you need to do is video yourself singing along and all the performances will be added to the mix making it one big shanty singalong.

All you need is enthusiasm – and a pirate costume… Join in with the actions and you’re getting your daily exercise, too!

“The instructions are on the video and we are using hashtags #sheringhamsingsshanties and #dresslikeapirate to spread the word,” said Richard Grieve.

Once you have finished your video, send it to brianjfarrow@gmail.com or Jon Payne mail@jonpayne.co.uk.

And they are asking everyone to share the event using the hashtags #sheringhamsingsshanties and #dresslikeapirate on social media to get as many people as possible involved.

Anyone can join in – wherever they are – but the videos need to be sent in by Sunday, April 26.

You can watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uozz8Za3h1Q or click on the video above, and be ready to sing along.
