Tree festival is a Christmas cracker
The Yuletide countdown got off to a flying start in Thorpe St Andrew as the annual Christmas Tree Festival produced a £1,000 boost for church funds.
There was festive spirit in abundance as the community rallied round to support the event, which marked the start of the Advent period at St Andrew’s Parish Church.
The Rev James Stewart thanked all involved saying: “What a privilege it is to minister here!
“A wonderful beginning to the Advent/Christmas season. Well done to all the stall-holders, refreshment providers, those on the children’s activity table, Father Christmas and Jennifer our harpist and Thorpe Players who dressed in Victorian costume and sang carols beautifully accompanied by Ben.
“We raised in excess of £1000 for church funds.”

FESTIVE SPIRIT: Enjoying the occasion at St Andrew’s Parish Church.
