The weekend’s Sheringham beach clean cleared lots of rubbish from the beach and organisers have thanked all those who took part.

It was the first clean since lockdown began, and Bob Smith said it was nice to meet some new volunteers as well as some familiar faces.

“I think we collected our usual amount of rubbish from the town’s beaches which reflects their growing use since the lock down restrictions were relaxed,” he said. “I guess that as these are relaxed further, and with the lack of foreign holidays this year, the use of Sheringham beach will increase accordingly.”

The next clean is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, with an extra clean scheduled for August 23, to get the beach ready for Bank Holiday weekend visitors. There will be no clean on Thursday, August 6, because Sheringham Carnival is no longer going ahead.
