Whitsun family fun at Holt Country Park and Pretty Corner

North Norfolk District Council’s (NNDC) Countryside Rangers are hosting a range of activities over the Whitsun half-term holiday, with events for children and adults on offer at the council’s countryside sites at Holt Country Park and Pretty Corner, near Sheringham.

Activities include making butterfly, bee and mini-beast homes and pond dipping, and there’s even a ‘Muddy Boots volunteers day’. And there’s no need to book in advance, just turn up on the day.

Holt Country Park

Tuesday 27 May

Save our insects:  making butterfly, bee and mini-beast homes, and a study of insects that live in the country park and their habitats. From 10am to 12 noon, and 1 – 3pm. £2.50 per child.

Wednesday 28 May

Muddy Boots Club

Exploring wild flowers and insects. 1.30 to 3.30pm, no booking required.

Free entry. Open to all ages – gloves provided, but please wear outdoor clothes.

Please note £1.50 all day parking for each vehicle.

All events start from the Visitor Centre. Please wait for the rangers or group leaders. We advise to bring pushchairs for tiny tired feet. Please wear suitable outdoor clothes

Pretty Corner

Thursday 29 May

Pond dipping

From 10am to 12 noon, and 1pm – 3pm. £1 per child.

Events start from the lower car park, on Holway Road, Sheringham. Please wait for the rangers or group leaders to guide you. There are no toilets at Pretty Corner.
