A scarecrow trail around Thorpe has been hailed as a debut success and could become an annual event.

“This is our first Scarecrow Trail and something we hope to add to our yearly events. It’s been a great success, around the streets of Thorpe, brought to the friends as an initiative by a group of Y2 parents,” said Friends of Hillside Avenue chair James Hume.

“We are thrilled with how the community has embraced the event and it’s been great to see young and old getting involved.”

The Friends are now looking forward to the ‘Hillfest‘ summer fete,  on July 6 at Hillside Avenue School, featuring music, games and fun sporting activities for all ages.

“The Friends of Hillside Avenue are so happy with the support for both the Scarecrow Trail and Hillfest and it highlights the importance of our school in the local community,” added James.
