The charity which runs the shows, films and classes at the Atrium has a new home in the middle of the town centre.

The organisation has taken over Number 1 Market Place as well as rebranding as Arts North Norfolk. The key reasons for the changes are to increase profile and awareness of the organisation’s activities and deliver events in other venues across the North Walsham area and soon wider area of North Norfolk.

Joseph Ballard, director of Arts North Norfolk said: “Being part of the fabric of the town centre and increasing our profile will be key to our development as an organisation. We hope the footfall will help increase ticket sales and participation in our projects. Our shop front will sell show and film tickets, register participants for projects and classes and will even host smaller events and classes in the shop itself.”

Sam Robbins, chairman of the organisation said: “We’re delighted to be making this positive move which is all part of our development strategy, following on from our new business plan which kicks into place this month. We are an organisation that has started with the fantastic facility of the Atrium and now it’s our chance to grow beyond the walls of the building.”

The organisation will still be delivering activity at the Atrium, and its autumn-winter programme also includes events at North Walsham library, the town centre and the shop itself.

The familiar staff team will all move over and as always, are seeking new volunteers to help cover shifts in the shop selling tickets and helping with information and support for events. Anyone interested and pop into the shop or call the team for a chat.

The shop was due to open on Thursday, September 11, and staff are hoping people will pop in and say hello.

The shop will be open regularly Wednesday to Saturday each week, 11am-4pm. For those wishing to buy tickets at other times, the Showcase Gallery will continue to support the charity and sell tickets seven days a week.

To find out more, check out the organisation’s website at, call 01692 218060, email or pop into the shop when it’s open. The organisation is also on Facebook and Twitter. Or see the ad on page 9.
